The sinking of the Titanic was a tragedy, but how were the victims recovered? Local historian Ashlie Payton will discuss interesting, lesser-known facts about the procedures used in the monumental task of recovering the bodies of those who perished in the tragic sinking of the Titanic. There’s Something in the Water: Recovering Titanic’s Victims will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 in the library’s large meeting room. The program is recommended for adults and teens due to the subject matter.

Come celebrate with us! Our Oceans of Possibilities Adult Summer Reading comes to a close at the end of July, and we plan on throwing a big bash for the grand finale! Adults can join us at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 on the library’s back lawn for a luau! We’ll have games, prizes, and a potluck. Bring a dish to share with everyone.

You might have heard stories from friends or been a victim of a scam yourself. On Wednesday, August 17, discover how you can be alert to these traps as Holly Frische, an independent Medicare agent from Findlay, delivers a presentation to bring awareness of current scams targeted at senior citizens.

After her presentation, there will be a time to share and ask questions. Holly will end the evening with SCAMO Bingo and prizes. This program begins at 6:00 p.m. and will be held in Upper Sandusky Community Library's large meeting room.

In an increasingly tech-dominated world, sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Northstar Digital Literacy can be the key to getting you there.

But what is Northstar Digital Literacy? Upper Sandusky Community Library’s upcoming program, Conquering the Computer: How Northstar Can Teach You Basic Computer Skills, is an introduction to Northstar Digital Literacy, what the program offers, the skills it teaches, and helps register people for the program. Northstar is open to people of all ages who would like to become more confident in their basic computer skills.

September is the start of the fall-o-days and nothing says fall like pumpkins!

Celebrate the coming season with snacks and crafts as you join Miss Rachel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8 in the library’s large meeting room. She will show you step-by-step how to create the perfect centerpiece with just wreath frames, fabric strips, and dried flowers. Then you’ll use those leftover plastic Easter eggs to fashion acorns made of yarn and twigs.

There’s no cost so grab a friend and make it a party! Registration is required and begins Monday, August 29. Space is limited.
