The Upper Sandusky Community Library Board of Trustees will convene for a meeting at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11. The library’s Board of Trustees meets on the second Thursday of each month to discuss library business. The meetings are open to the public.

The Upper Sandusky Community Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The library will return to regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Get ready for another twist on our Taste of... series! 

The Upper Sandusky Community Library’s Patti Davidson and her husband Tony will take a step back in time and teach you about recipes and cultures from all over the world prior to the 1600s. 

Common Readers will be reading “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak in January. 

Got lunch plans? Come to Lunch Bunch on Monday, Jan. 22 at 12:00 p.m. in the library’s large meeting room and bring soup or bread to warm everyone up during winter. Make sure to bring a copy of the recipe to share with the group and then get ready to discuss cooking, baking, recipes, and more.

Inglorious Bookworms will be reading “Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir in January. 

Do you believe in the existence of Bigfoot? Get ready to dive into the scientific research that goes into the search for Bigfoot at a special event on Monday, Jan. 8. 

Join Rachel Keirns-Moore for Craft Party at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11. She will show you how to make a Cookie Sheet Calendar and personalized magnets to help you start your new year right. Registration is required and begins Tuesday, Jan. 2. Sign up at the library or call 419-294-1345 to reserve a spot. Space is limited. Adults only, please.

Join the Healing Communities Coalition for a program at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 at the Upper Sandusky Community Library discussing what Narcan is, how it is used, and why it’s an important line of protection against overdose deaths in Wyandot County. 

It’s time to check in on how your 100 Book Club Challenge is going! Join fellow bookworms to talk about books we’ve read, eat donuts, enjoy hot drinks, and play a bookish emoji game. Have you made it to the halfway mark yet? If you’ve finished at least 50 books, bring in your reading tracker sheet to be entered into a drawing for a Barnes & Noble gift card. The Halfway Hoorah takes place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 in the library’s large meeting room.
