The 2023 summer reading program runs through July 31

Summer isn't over and neither is our All Together Now Summer Reading Program! It runs through July 31.

Summer reading begins June 1 and participants can sign up now at the library. Pick up a summer reading packet for your age group at the front desk and get to reading! When you complete your packet, bring it back to the library for an entry into one of the prize drawings.

ADULTS

The Casual Reader Experience: Are you a casual reader? Sign up for our Casual Reader Experience! When you register for the reading challenge you will receive a USCL tote bag and a reading tracker bookmark. There will be five (5) slots for you to fill in as you read books. Once the bookmark is full, turn it in for an entry to our grand prize drawing for a Kindle Paperwhite. Keep coming back throughout June and July to receive more bookmarks to fill out and earn additional entries. We will track the number of book titles within the library to see how many books the community has read!

The Eight-Point-Three Challenge: If the Casual Reader Experience isn't hard enough for you then join the Eight-Point-Three Challenge! We're debuting the start of a new challenge during the summer reading program and it will run through May 31, 2024. When you sign up for the Eight-Point-Three Challenge you will receive a tracking chart where you can record the books you read between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024. The challenge is to read 100 books in a year - or 8.3 books per month! If you reach the 100-book milestone within that time frame you'll get to join The 100 Book Club. A reception will be held during the 2024 summer reading program to induct readers into our prestigious readers club. The club is for ages 6+. Adult readers can participate in both challenges during the summer reading program.

You can earn extra entries into our adult prize drawings by attending any of our adult programs throughout the All Together Now Summer Reading Program. If you find one of the Kindness Rocks rocks out in the wild, bring it back to the library for an additional entry.

TEENS (grades 6-12)

Join our teen/tween summer reading program and read awesome books, attend ridiculously fun programs, and try to win some prizes picked out especially for you by Miss Lisa! How do you earn tickets? Sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Program, checkout items from the library (one ticket per checkout per day), or attend any of our fun summer programs. Once you've earned a scratch-off ticket, then scratch off the circle on the front to see if you've won a small prize. After that make sure to fill out the back of the ticket and put it in any of the prize boxes for a chance to win that item. There's no limit to how many tickets you can earn, so keep coming back for more!

KIDS

Bingo is back! Work your way through the Bingo card and mark off each activity that you complete. Each Bingo equals one entry to win a prize of your choice. You will receive a paperback book when you bring in your completed Bingo card.

WEE READ (newborn to age 3)

This program enables even the youngest child to share in the joy of reading! Sign your child up for the Wee Read program and get work work reading together. Caregivers may cross out one (1) symbol for each book read to the child. Adults may bring the completed paper to the library until July 31 to receive a free board book.
